ONEKLIK sport | Juventus experienced a nightmare away match in the 36th week of the 2022/2023 Serie A season at Stadio Carlo Castellani. The Bianconeri ended the game with a resounding 1-4 defeat against Empoli on Tuesday (23/5/2023) WIB.
Francesco Caputo emerged as the player who successfully breached Juventus’ defense twice (18′ (Pen), 48′). The other two goals were scored by Sebastiano Luperto (21′) and Roberto Piccoli (90’+3).
Juventus managed to score their only goal through Federico Chiesa, albeit late in the 85th minute.
This defeat prevented Juventus from moving up from 7th place with 59 points. They are still trailing AS Roma by one point.
Prior to the Juventus-Empoli match, it’s important to note that Juventus had a deduction of 10 points, causing them to drop from 2nd to 7th place in the standings.
First Half
The momentum of the game quickly fluctuated in the early stages of the first half. Initially, Juventus had control of the game during the first 15 minutes.
Dusan Vlahovic (7′) came close to giving Juventus the lead, but his shot lacked power and was difficult to reach. Then, in the 13th minute, Juventus managed to score through Federico Gatti, but the goal was disallowed due to a foul in the process.
Disaster struck for Juventus in the 18th minute when Empoli was awarded a penalty after a foul inside the penalty box. Francesco Caputo stepped up as the executioner and gave the home team the lead over Juventus.
Three minutes later (21′), Empoli scored their second goal through a header from Sebastiano Luperto. Chaos ensued in front of Juventus’ goal after a failed clearance from a corner kick. Luperto took advantage of the situation and kicked the ball into the net from a very close range.
The two-goal advantage completely nullified Juventus’ dominance in the early stages of the match. Despite continuing to press Empoli, their attacking organization vanished. Many passes failed to reach the final third of the pitch.
Second Half
Juventus’ misery continued in the second half. In the 48th minute, Empoli extended their lead thanks to Francesco Caputo’s second goal. The goal originated from a lost ball by Alex Sandro, and one Juventus defender was easily overcome by two Empoli players.
The third goal didn’t immediately ignite Juventus’ spirit. It wasn’t until the 85th minute that the long-awaited goal finally materialized. Federico Chiesa scored through a short corner kick routine, finding himself unmarked inside the penalty area.
Instead of adding more goals, Juventus conceded again from a corner kick. Roberto Piccoli became the last player to breach Juventus’ goal that night in the 90+3rd minute.

Kekalahan ini membuat Juventus gagal beranjak dari peringkat ke-7 dengan 59 poin. Mereka masih tertinggal satu angka dari AS Roma di atasnya.
Sebagai informasi, sebelum laga Juventus melawan Empoli dimulai, Juventus mendapatkan pengurangan 10 poin yang membuat peringkat mereka di klasemen terlempar dari peringkat ke-2 menuju peringkat ke-7.
Babak Pertama
Momentum pertandingan di awal babak pertama dengan cepat berubah-ubah. Juventus awalnya memegang kendali permainan dalam kurun waktu 15 menit pertama.

Tiga menit berselang (21’), Empoli mencetak gol kedua lewat sundulan Sebastiano Luperto. Kemelut di muka gawang Juventus usai sepak pojok gagal disapu bersih. Luperto kemudian memanfaatkan keadaan dengan menyepak bola dari jarak yang sangat dekat dengan gawang.
Keunggulan dua gol memnbuat dominasi Juventus di awal laga hilang sepenuhnya. Sekalipun terus bisa menekan Empoli, organisasi serangan menghilang. Banyak umpan-umpan yang gagal saat memasuki area sepertiga akhir.
Babak Kedua
Derita Juventus belum selesai di babak kedua. Laga baru memasuki menit ke-48, Empoli menambah gol lagi berkat gol kedua Fransesco Caputo. Gol berawal dari bola yang hilang dari penguasaan Alex Sandro dan satu orang pemain bertahan Juventus dengan mudah di atasi dua pemain Empoli.
Gol ketiga tuan rumah tidak segera membueat Juventus panas. Gelison Bremer dkk baru mulai intens menekan di atas menit ke-60.
Meski begitu, gol yang di nanti-nanti baru tercipta di menit ke-85. Federico Chiesa mencetak gol lewatk skema sepak pojok pendek, yang membuatnya tidak terkawal di dalam kotak penalti.
Bukannya menambah gol, Juventus justru kembali kemasukan lagi-lagi dari skema sepak pojok. Roberto Piccoli memnjadi pemain terakhir yang berhasil membobol gawang Juventus di malam itu di menit ke-90+3.
